UPLIFTING WOMEN REPRESENTATION IN LGs OF PUNJAB

LCAP & LG MINISTRY INTRODUCING WOMEN FRIENDLY LG LEGISLATION

LCAP has arranged a consultative session among honourable LG Minister Punjab Mr Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed and prominent women activists. The LG Minister shared provisions from newly drafted LG legislation for Punjab. The upcoming LG law uplifted women representation from 9000 to 20000 in Punjab. The act solidifies female representation in LG cabinets. As per the previous legislation, there was a single seat for women councillors in an LG council, now two women councils will represent the LG council as per new LG legislation.

The meeting was moderated by Senior Journalist Mr Salman Abid and CEO Mr Anwar Hussain. Senior Vice President LCAP, Mr Malik Jameel Ahmeed Kals also participated and praised the improvement.
