TALD Pilot Project | Inauguration of Vocational Training Centre in Sahiwal

The Municipal Corporation Sahiwal and Local Councils Association of the Punjab established a Vocational Training Centre for disabled girls with the collaboration of the European Union and Commonwealth Local Government forum under the Pilot Project TALD.

Mr Sardar Asad Ali Khan Baloch, Mayor Municipal Corporation Sahiwal and Ms Fozia Khalid Warriach President, LCAP and Chairperson District Council Toba Tek Singh inaugurated the Vocational Training Centre.

The vocational training centre is based in the Community Development Centre where the disabled girls will attain free bi-annual courses of stitching and designing, the admissions have been started for the fresh batch. The institute will be providing the certification of “sanatzar” (government based vocational training institute) to the students at the completion. In this way the girls would be eligible for vacancies in governmental and/or non-governmental sectors, said Executive Directive, CDC, Mr Asif Nawaz.

The leadership of LCAP provided best wishes to all the students and promised to help graduated students to attain attractive remote job opportunities from big city textile factories, so the girls can work from their home districts without doing any transfer or travel.
