LCA Women Members distributing COVID Safety material among Children across Punjab

Local Councils Association of the Punjab with GIZ distributed corona safety kits to the children of underprivileged government schools of the districts in Punjab. Underprivileged schools are more vulnerable and have insufficient resources to help children.  Safety kits have all the necessary items kids need for protection. It includes a mask, portable sanitizer, gloves, sanitized tissues, and soap. Women councilors from Punjab made a great effort in distributing these kits in their respective districts. Details from few districts are as follows

Lahore

WDC-LCAP Member: Rafia Kamal

Ms. Rafia Kamal distributed the kits among primary level girls at APS Girls High School, Model Town. School Principal Madam Tabassum and the staff has maintained good COVID-19 precautions for the safety of the kids.

Muzaffargarh

WDC-LCAP Member: Ume Kalsoom

Ms. Ume Kalsoom distributed Corona Safety kits at Faiz Public School. Amir Saleem (General Secretary Trade Union Muzaffargarh) and Shiraz Bashir (President National Press Club Muzaffargarh) were the Chief guests. They provided relevant information regarding the SOPs for COVID-19 and distributed the kits among children.

Sahiwal

Member: Farzana Abbas

Ms. Farzana Abbas distributed the kits at Government Girls High School. She has organized the awareness session on COVID-19. Prominent figures such as Chief Executive Education Authority Dr Muhammad Arshad, President Sahiwal Bar Association Raja Javed, Former Union Councillors Mrs. Saleem and Ms. Afshan participated in this session. They explained the kids about the safety precautions from Covid-19 and distributed these safety kits among girls.

Bahawalpur

Member: Nasreen Anwar

Ms. Nasreen Anwar organized an awareness program on COVID-19 at Government Girls Elementary School and distributed these safety kits after the session. Mr. Naseer Ahmed Nasir (President Press Club Bahawalpur), Chairman School Council Mrs. Mumtaz and School Principal Ms. Tahira Samreen participated in the session and distributed the kits.

Rahim yar Khan

Member: Khalida Iqbal

Ms. Khalida Iqbal distributed the kits among girls at Government Primary School Sadiq Abad.

Vehari

Member: Sumaira Mirza

Ms. Sumaira Mirza distributed safety kits to Government Elementary Girls Model School, Vehari. Vice President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Zahid Iqbal Chaudhry, Former Chairman Union Council Sajjad Khan Kachi and Former Councilor Muhammad Hussain Jutt participated for the distribution of safety kits.

Jhelum

WDC-LCAP Member: Shahida Shah

Ms. Shahida Shah distributed the kits in the schools of underprivileged areas of Jhelum i-e Dhok Firdaus and Karim Pura. Many prominent personalities of Jhelum were present for this safety cause. Provincial Assembly member Chaudhry Zafar Iqbal, Councilor Ch. Shabir Ahmed, Councilor Ch. Khadim Hussain, and Finance Secretary, Advocate Apa Mastoran participated in the distribution of kits.

Kangan Pur, Kasur

Member: Zaib-un-Nisa

Ms. Zaib-un-Nisa distributed the kits at Government Girls High School, Kul, Kasur. She has organized the awareness session on safety measures against COVID-19 for students. Prominent figures such as Vice President LCAP, Mr. Mian Jameel Ahmed Kals, Executive Director LCAP, and Mr. Anwar Hussain joined the distribution ceremony and awareness session. Subsequently, she performed the identical sessions and awareness sessions in Government English Medium School, Kals Nau, Kangan Pur, Government Girls English Medium School, Kals Gama, Kangan Pur, and Government Chando Begum Degree College for Women, Kangan Pur. All the students were informed with updated SOPs issued by the government for prevention and safety against Coronavirus. Provincial Minister for Labour and Population, Mr. Sardar Hashim Dogar participated as a Chief Guest during the distribution ceremony at Government Chando Begum Degree College for Women, Kangan Pur. He promised to start more initiatives to facilitate students during these harsh times of pandemic.
