MoU with Local Government and Community Development Department

Chairman LCAP Ch. Zahid Iqbal and Executive Director, LCAP Ch Anwar Hussain had a meeting with Hon. Minister of Law Raja Basharat and Rai Zahoor Ahmad Member of Punjab Assembly. They have discussed Awareness Sessions across Punjab on the Local of PunjabGovernment Act for LG members. They also discussed the current situation of the non-functional status of previously suspended LG members of Punjab recently restored by the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan.

LCA Punjab has initiated the talks with the local government department regarding signing an MoU for possible collaboration with the LG&CD department for Awareness Sessions across Punjab regarding LG laws for LG members and other local government-related initiatives. Additional Secretary Local Government Mr Arshad Baig showed interest in future collaborations.

Debate in Punjab Assembly regarding Local Governments Revival

In the 34th session of the Punjab Assembly where the Current situation of Local governments regarding a detailed decision from Hon. Supreme Court regarding revival of local governments has been discussed during the point of order.

The discussion was initiated by Manan Khan along with Mr Bilal Farooq Tarar and Mr Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bherth. The answers were sought from the Provincial Minister of Punjab for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Baitul Maal and Social Welfare, Muhammad Raja Basharat. The discussion was also accompanied by Mr Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan.

Chairman LCAP Ch. Zahid Iqbal and Executive Director, LCAP Ch Anwar Hussain participated in the session as an observant.
